Museum

Texture takes you on a journey through the history of the linen and flax industry. The museum tells the story of how the craftsmanship of yesteryear still permeates our lives today. A story with strong roots in daring entrepreneurship, revolutionary innovation and agility!

In three richly decorated rooms, you will discover that 'Courtrai flax' – or Kortrijk flax – is still known as a top international product. At Texture, you can delve deeper into the past. The former flax warehouse is the perfect place to unravel a fascinating piece of regional heritage. The banks of the Leie form the – um – thread running through the story.

On the ground floor, you can marvel at a playful laboratory. Taste, feel and test the impact that flax has on our daily lives. The flax plant forms the basis of objects we use every day: from a summer linen dress to soap and American dollar bills. A rewarding product for many entrepreneurs, designers and scientists.

Treasury

Treasures are kept in the attic, right? Under the crowned roof, you can browse through the rich textile collection of damasks, complex lace and handicrafts, and fine fabrics. A room that effortlessly inspires young and old alike. We regularly change the pieces here, so you can stroll through a new space. Why is it so dark in here? Ah, because textiles are delicate items. The temperature is also adjusted for this reason. Follow the light and feast your eyes!
